The Technology Platforms and Experiences (TPX) team is the technology engine that powers PayPal’s business. The Console is the Web/CLI interface to all TPX platform capabilities. Responsibilities:

  • Drive Engineering strategy and vision for the product working closely with customers, product managers & executives 
  • Facilitate and drive key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders
  • Partner with product, technology, program and analytics stakeholders to deliver a sustainable technology platform that demonstrably serves customers
  • Define and set standards for engineering rigor and help cultivate an engineering driven culture
  • Predictably deliver results in a fast paced, agile development environment
  • Drive architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale enterprise grade products & platforms
  • Track business impact of features and rely on data to make informed decisions 
  • Build a culture of learning and collaboration, that bets on bold innovation to take on audacious challenges
  • Practice extreme ownership
  • Manage and coach teams comprising highly skilled engineers at different experience levels
  • Recruit, coach, and develop top full stack engineering and management talent

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 14+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and delivering large scale platforms and products.
  • 7+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading software development teams
  • Proven expertise in Web and Cloud computing technologies
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, large-scale distributed and highly available platforms and products
  • Expertise in managing Agile development teams, with the ability to coach team members on the Agile mindset
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage a large, diverse set of to-dos – vigorously prioritize, stay on top of multiple work streams, monitor progress, hold owners accountable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Experience recruiting top talent, building and managing highly effective engineering teams
  • Have strong executive presence
  • Have empathetic, global mindset that prizes diversity of thought, cultures & backgrounds
