The User Experience Design (UED) team at PayPal champion’s user centered design across our organization. Working in partnership with Product and Engineering teams, we build the next generation of financial services products. The User Experience Research (UER) team, working with our Design partners, designs and delivers impactful research that guides our work and brings the voice of the user to all we do. We are looking to recruit a Senior Manager, Recruiting and Operations to lead our UER Recruiting & Operations team. The Manager will lead a small team of research operations specialists, who are responsible for delivering seamless, quality operational support to deliver best in class user experience research. The Senior Manager will have responsibility for coordinating and running the day to day activities of the Recruiting and Operations function, with a focus on participant recruitment, vendor management, Customer Experience Research Centers (CERC) facilities and operational process improvement. The role requires a strategic thinker who can solve problems and context switch brilliantly throughout the day. The successful candidate for this role will have a proven research operations background in a fast-paced environment driven by customer service excellence. As a people manager, you will also have built and managed motivated and efficient teams. You will enjoy engaging with many different stakeholders across Global Design and the wider organization. Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to steer through sometimes complex process will be essential.

  • The Senior Manager will work to ensure the smooth running of these key areas and with their team, adeptly solve escalations, issues and problems.


  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of operations experience.
  • Industry experience in research or research operations.
  • Working internationally and across time zones.
  • People management (team size of 4+).
  • Prior experience in managing and scaling in-house research operations teams.
  • Track record in process improvement in research operations.
  • Expertise in strategic development of participant recruiting practice.
  • Experience managing global team members, recruiting projects and facilities.
  • Deep expertise in sourcing and implementing multiple research tools.
  • Operations management experience, including compliance and legal.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Focus on participant recruiting vendors and research suppliers.
  • People management experience.
