This team is focused on building out a great mobile app for merchants to use for accepting card based payments and also a SDK that powers various partners to accept card present payments through PayPal. A senior software engineering manager should not only have the technical chops to roll up their sleeves and provide technical leadership to major technical initiatives, but, also manage a team of engineers and managers across various mobile platforms. A Senior manager will help define and manage project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop and grow the team. You will guide the way for the teams that are operating at scale and speed with your technical and leadership expertise.


  • Lead a team of managers and software engineers focussed on mobile application and SDK
  • Own end to end reliability, availability and performance of the product.
  • Define and own key operational metrics and constantly thrive to improve them
  • Partner with product counterpart to contribute to product strategy, execution planning to meet key business metrics
  • Lead by example, care for people and build effective partnerships with all stakeholders and partners
  • Grow your direct reports and team overall
  • Work with senior leadership on strategic initiatives
  • Foster a culture of continued innovation


  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science
  • 10+ years of technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership and people management, including managing managers.
  • 5 years of experience leading mobile development projects.
  • Experience programming in one of the following: Android, iOS, JavaScript
  • Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
