PayPal Marketing have a new operating model, supported by agile cross-functional squads, helping to redefine the role of marketing as a growth lever and game changing function. This role will ensure global program success by leading a team of embedded Marketing Scrum Masters to establish best in class working practices and deliver world-class communications to our customers.​

Key Responsibilities 

  • Program Delivery leader for the Scrum Master team and ‘Squad’ marketers, you are working to support the flow of work across the new Agile framework. You will be overseeing and ensuring the success of 17 cross functional marketing teams (squads). You will support the ~10 Scrum Masters in this process in conjunction with the Transformation Office and our Agile Coach.  

  • Strategic partnership, you will be able to provide the marketing team with your 10+ years knowledge of Agile and/or marketing experience so you can guide them to make the correct strategic decisions. 

  • Agile champion:You are embedding new agile ways of working across the teams you support, always optimizing for growth and ensuring the team are aligned and clear on the overarching processes and methodologies.  

  • Relationship Management: You focus on building relationships with Squad Marketers and Leadership. You are constantly driving adoption of the agile mindset across cross functional teams. 

  • Resource management: You work with your colleagues to effectively manage all the resources dedicated to the Squads, including the embedded Channel Excellence members. You will ensure there is consistency, quality of work and the resource is managed based on business needs. You will communicate resource impacts and capacity challenges to leadership on a continuous basis.  

  • Community of PracticeAs the scrum master role is a new position for Marketing at PayPal you will work alongside our Agile Coach, MO&T Directors and Scrum Masters to build out the community and the discipline aligned with the goals of the team and business.  

  • Optimisefor growth:You are effectively churning the extended Global Program Delivery team to keep a body of knowledge intact while maintaining costs and bringing new expertise into team. You reflect on the efficiency of the Global Program Delivery team and partner with Marketing Transformation to implement any necessary changes.​ 

 

Requisite Experience  

   

T-Profile:  

  • Breadth: Technology and Marketing, Product Management 

  • Depth: Agile Teams, Program Delivery 

 

  • Experienced SCRUM Master or Agile Coach with Hands On computer engineering background. Core strength of balancing resource availability with sprint planning.  

  • SCRUM, Kanban or Agile certificationsMarketing or Management Degree with Technology or Agile Product Management or Agile Product Management certifications. Multilingual skill set a plus​ 

  • Global Operator with track record in working empathetically across multiple geographies 

  • Customer Champion with demonstrated track record in designing marketing solutions with customer at centre 

  • Multiple year Marketing execution and delivery experience with omni channel focus. Essential experience in managing multiple large workstreams in parallel.  ​ 

  • Marketing domain expertise, including martech and data knowledge 

  • Expert communicator with broad stakeholder group. Experience of mentoring on Agile methodology, upskilling internal teams and driving adoption​ 

  • Is passionate about making animpact and rolling up their sleeves to make the right change happen and happen fast, in a leading global company​ 

  • Proven team transformation experience – You have many examples of coaching and managing teams to reach peak performance  

  • Comfort working with cross-functional groups and leadership 

  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills 

  • Payments experience highly valued 

  • Flexible and able to operate in a changing environment
