The Senior Manager, Competitive Intelligence role will sit on our Corporate Strategy Team and lead competitive intelligence projects as part of the group. They will serve the PayPal senior leadership team to ensure we stay abreast of key competitive developments in the ecosystem.

Role description

  • Discern the strategic implications from payments related moves of key PayPal competitors globally
  • Collaborate with different PayPal teams across Product, Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Market Research and Investor relationships to bring together a cross-functional perspective in relation to competitive actions
  • Work with senior leadership from Product and Sales teams to develop perspectives on impact to PayPal and range of competitive response options
  • Oversee deep-dive research on product experiences and go-to-market tactics that the competitor is deploying
  • Synthesize insights and implications for executive consumption in a way that helps facilitate decision making
  • Periodically carry out competitive landscape review to facilitate discussion on PayPal strategy vis-à-vis competition
  • Serve as the single point of aggregation for disseminating all competition related news to the PayPal senior leadership team

  • Adept project management skills to be able to drive towards output creation in a cross functional setting
  • Manage interactions with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales and Marketing.  Ability to ask the right questions and push the thinking where required
