The Consumer Engineering team builds user experiences used by millions of consumers across the globe. We are seeking Senior java Engineer with hands-on in java development lifecycle experience to join us. You’ll be a part of the “what” and “how” of the future of consumer applications and product development at PayPal. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with cross functional teams during all phases of the software development lifecycle, and must have familiarity with Agile methodologies, test automation and release engineering. Responsibilities:

•      Responsible for the development of new features and improvements of applications consumer experience platform

•      Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project

•      Codes, tests, debugs and documents software applications

•      Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented

•      Analyzes requirements, and translates business requirements into product designs

•      Writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation

•      May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.

Skills/Experience:

•        A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

•        Technical Team member experience (3+ years)

•        Experience building out a focus on micro-services/API based platform

•        Experience building out an integration development/enablement based platform on type and experience with specific associated software

•        Demonstrates an understanding of agile methodologies and practices

•        Knowledge of Platform integration

•        Excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills

•        Agile environment experience with great communication and collaboration skills

•        Knowledge of Java tech stacks

•        Knowledge of Java (JDK 1.6/1.7), J2EE, Hibernate 3, EJB 3.1, SQL, XML

•        Experience developing RESTful Web Services
