Senior GL Accountant to supervise GL Tower tasks including BPO supervision, Payroll process re-engineering, M&A activity and process improvement

General Ledger Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

The PayPal Controllership, Global Record-to-Report organization is looking for a highly motivated individual with a combination of strong accounting and interpersonal skills.  The position is located in Omaha, NE and will lead GL projects GL functions which support various business units and finance teams to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on activities in the following areas:
    • Payroll Accounting
    • M&A Accounting Transitions
    • Investment & Cash Tower Support
    • General Ledger Initiatives
  • Regularly conduct meetings with the Business Process Outsource team to review account reconciliations, clear open items, review quarterly metrics, discuss and resolve issues.
  • Manage Audit tasks related to GL functions such as:
    • Audit preparation and support compilation
    • SOX Documentation, Compliance, and Testing
    • Audit Response
    • Process Improvement, standardization, stabilization, and transition to outsourced provider

The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and possess extensive technical and operational accounting experience. The ability to manage relationships cross functionally through clear communication of goals and objectives is extremely important.

Candidates for this position must have:

  • 8+ years accounting experience in both payroll, and industry. Experience at a large growth company a plus.
  • ADP GlobalView payroll accounting experience
  • Experience with supervising international entities & personnel
  • Solid experience with SAP General Ledger system
  • Strong process improvement skills; proficiency with spreadsheet and presentation software.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives.
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement.

Candidates should also possess the following:

  • FX experience
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and SOX
  • Polished communications skills including an ability to comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present findings as well as recommendations in both oral and written presentations to all levels of the organization
  • Energy and desire to thrive in a fast-paced organization with flexibility as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent required
