As the consummate Customer Champion, driving excellence in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment, the Sr. Director Compliance Platforms Product Management leads the team supporting all regulatory compliance platforms and solutions. This individual will focus on day to day and strategic products across PayPal's Compliance Platforms domain. The leader will be responsible for managing risks and creating system mitigation strategies involving multiple products and platforms, both from 3rd party industry vendors and those developed in house. Implementation of roadmaps & programs spanning across multiple teams and geographic locations will be critical to this role's success. The role's team is responsible for defining business, product and technical strategies for products and platforms. The Senior Director, Compliance Platforms Product Management will be responsible for managing and interacting with business and technical stakeholders within Compliance Platforms and across Customer, Merchant, and Segment teams. The ideal candidate is a Product Manager leader, and preferably has experience & knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Policies and understands RegTech. This individual will solve business and technical challenges, deal with ambiguity, and provide support with a ‘get stuff done‘ approach. The ideal candidate will coach & mentor their team to reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and inspiring a high-achieving product management team
  • Identifying business opportunities and how to best support them with product and platform capabilities
  • Formulating a long and short-term product strategy to ensure delivery of key performance indicators
  • Developing trusted relationships with technology leaders, business leaders and stakeholders to drive optimized product delivery. This includes supporting and holding development /engineering resources accountable for their responsibilities within the products they are responsible for.
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent products and programs from delivering on product and program objectives. Balances urgent and effective action, commitment to excellence, and taking initiative to resolve problems; holds internal stakeholders accountable where appropriate
  • Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner
  • Develops loyalty and commitment in others by communicating clear expectations, developing and mentoring direct reports, and setting an example in one’s own behavior


Job Requirements/Skills:

  • Strong Product Management track record in high volume, high pressure environment. Proven results in delivery on product capabilities. Strong business and technical acumen from a Global Financial Services organization, Payments, or E-commerce Org
  • Global mindset with ability to think about culture, language, and other aspect when putting the Customer at the Center of all outcomes.
  • Experience with new and emerging technologies especially in Machine Learning, AI and big data
  • Working experience with Agile methodologies and durable team concepts is also required.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and across multiple domains.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills; Ability to lead a team across multiple locations (4-5 large locations and additional small locations)
  • 15+ years’ experience as Product Manager with 10+ years direct senior leadership experience
  • Passion for leading and developing direct reports; providing guidance, consultation, and opportunities towards improving their professional skill set; ability to lead and influence direct reports remotely.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage a large, diverse set of to-do’s – vigorously prioritize, stay on top of multiple work streams, monitor progress, hold owners accountable.
  • Communication style motivated by brevity and purposeful outcomes with experience interfacing with executives.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed
  • Day-to-day presence in San Jose
