Lead Senior Accountant, based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, responsible for day-to-day execution of accounting operations across all of PayPal’s merchant and consumer credit programs.

  • Work with a high degree of initiative to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities to ensure all processes are scalable for Credit business’ rapid expansion.
  • Review and approve daily accounting activities, including review of daily deliverables to partnering bank, approval of SAP journal entries, and approval of wire transfers and ACHs.
  • Review daily and monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assist in month close and quarter close procedures, including ownership of month over month GL Account fluctuation analysis.
  • Develop and improve internal process documentation. Ability to analyze and walkthrough new or existing accounting processes from beginning to end and outline journal entries.
  • Assist manager in the oversight of day-to-day team operations and problem solving for team.
  • Work both independently and cooperatively to research, track and timely resolve outstanding GL account reconciling items.  Able to apply advanced research techniques to accurately identify the source of the reconciling items.  Collaborate with internal resources to escalate and resolve these differences. 
  • Lead special projects as they arise.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Three to Four years of successful work experience in public accounting (ideally Big 4).
    • Prior experience with financial service companies preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and reporting of financial data
  • Strong computer skills specifically moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other advanced functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas and plans clearly and effectively with internal and external audiences
