The Senior Analyst role requires great organizational skills, attention to detail, deep understanding of data management products, analytics, and technology. The ideal candidate is comfortable with enterprise data management and can complete complex tasks with little to no guidance. In this role, you are a manager who is selfless and invests in internal and external customer’s successful experience with PayPal data management capabilities. The candidate is completely comfortable aligning strategies and objectives across a diverse global organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis, design and maintenance of data management and governance framework and processes to deliver optimized solutions.     

  • Analyzes complex business problems, identifies gaps, and provides technical expertise in business requirements for data management products and system functional specifications.

  • Collaborate with data users and stakeholders to identify, understand, articulate, design, and manage requirements for data assets across PayPal, which includes:

    • Understanding and translating internal policies to data product requirements

    • Aligning governance processes with global data regulations

    • Create business design details for automation of systems and processes

  • Drive data lineage and data quality efforts across the company while providing analysis to enable   automation instrumentation of lineage collection, data disposal and maintenance.

  • Responsible for translating internal stakeholder business and policy requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for complex data management technology solutions

  • Coordinates activities required to deliver against project requirements which may include scope definition, progress tracking & reporting, coordination of across functional teams to achieve delivery objectives  

  • Develop and execute communication, training and awareness of enterprise-wide data management and governance standards, training, and best practices

  • Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements. May design details of automated systems.

  • Work with business, technology, and product teams to ensure alignment of objectives, initiatives, policies and projects with PayPal’s Data Management Framework.

  • May provide project supervision to more junior members of the team

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related field. 

  • Minimum of 7+ years of related experience in data management, governance and requirements analysis and management

  • Must have hands-on experience supporting strategies and implementation of data management and governance tools, processes, and standards.

  • Exceptional analysis and critical reasoning skills with a strong focus on execution

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to a broad stroke of audiences including senior leaders, management, business, and technical teams.

  • Ability to work well under pressure; manage tight deadlines and situations where conflicting priorities arise.

  • Strong relationship building skills, coupled with high business acumen.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with the trends and opportunities in the data management industry

  • An innate intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to build awareness of current payments industry and data management and governance best practices.
