Newly created Senior Accountant position due to rapid business expansion. Position to be based in Conshohocken, PA. Will be joining an existing team of 13. Key responsibilities will include preparation of all financial reporting, as well as execution of assigned projects across PayPal’s International Merchant and Consumer credit programs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling of multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines. Highly automated Accounting environment with unique loan servicing platforms, as well as other systems, utilized across product portfolios. Process streamlining is an ongoing effort and system consolidation will be a key initiative for 2021 and beyond. Lead special projects within the Credit Accounting team by partnering with all impacted business functions within PayPal’s matrix structure such as: Finance, Data Analytics, System Platform teams, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, etc. Special projects may include: expansion of existing programs to new geographic locations, new product launches, process improvements, system configuration changes, etc. Prepare all monthly and quarterly reporting for the Credit department, including reporting under both GAAP and IFRS Accounting and preparation of relevant 10Q/10K disclosures. Identify and clearly explain the drivers behind balance sheet and income statement fluctuations against prior periods. Assist in month close process which will include review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Review both complex and non-complex journal entries with limited supervision and ensure the accuracy of information through well-documented workpapers. Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve any issues or reconciling items. Work with a high degree of initiative to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities to ensure all processes are scalable for Credit business’ rapid expansion. Develop and improve internal process documentation. Ability to analyze and walkthrough new or existing accounting processes from beginning to end and outline journal entries. Assist managers in the oversight of day-to-day team operations and problem solving for team. Work both independently and cooperatively to research, track, and timely resolve accounting issues. Able to apply advanced research techniques to accurately identify the source of issues. Collaborate with internal resources to escalate and resolve.

    Required Skills:

    • Quick learner with a high degree of attention to detail and understanding of business/accounting processes.
    • Experience with SEC reporting.
    • Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills.
    • High degree of personal integrity and professional skepticism.
    • Open to change and committed to continuous process improvement.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas and plans clearly and effectively with internal and external audiences.
    • Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other advanced functions.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • 3- 5 years of Audit/Accounting experience: 2 years minimum in Big 4 public accounting, plus 1-3 years in private industry corporate accounting. Prior experience with financial service companies is a plus.
    • CPA obtained (preferred) or in progress.
