• You will build develop and lead a team of employees into a high performing team, delivering a balanced approach towards risk in order to best serve our merchants • You will lead others in teammate selection, encourage internal talent movement and monitor training needs analysis to drive the closure of knowledge gaps • You will drive results as a consultant for teammates and the merchant whilst also being a strong performer in offering peer to peer coaching • You will demonstrate to your teammates the ability to make sound decisions at higher risk exposure level • You will manage business strategies and lead others to manage the workforce efficiently and effectively • Your will act as a role model, accomplish impacts beyond your own team and make it easy for customers to do business with PayPal during change • You will monitor and lead through the required quality checks to coach and improve your teams performance • Your leadership will drive positive merchant engagement across multiple work streams and partners • You will be an expert in financial assessments, analysing reports and offering complex analysis for decision making and business improvements • You will use your expertise in policies and procedures to identify problems and make recommendations • You will identify trends and validate potential larger impact to portfolio for further escalation • You independently drive internal and external projects and demonstrate a high level of initiative with a proactive approach to risk

What does Success Look Like?  

Holistic Review

  • You guide specialists to investigate merchant E2E, communicate and lead all roles of MRC - Risk, Relationship Manager, Sales, Negotiator, and  Investigator
  • You serve as an expert SME decision maker and take ownership of Escalation Management

Merchant Education

  • You always put yourself in the merchant’s shoes and act as a strong partner.
  • You have the ability to effectively communicate to teammates how to influence the right outcomes, build relationships and consult with our Merchants, team and partners.


  • You demonstrate strong communications skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels –teammates, peer leaders and management
  • You are driven by results, you understand key metrics and can motivate others to achieve desired outcomes
  • You recognise the need for and can lead change management initiatives while maintaining teammate engagement

About You  

  • You have 4+ years’ experience within a customer support or financial institution, with experience in Fraud, Credit Risk, Transaction processing or Chargeback Processing
  • You have 4+  years’ supervisory experience
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have an ability to lead and influence a top performing team and take ownership of the impact your teams decisions have on the overall business
  • You have strong working knowledge of external systems and PC based internet and software applications (e.g. Internet, Microsoft Office).
  • You are passionate about the development of others and driven by the success of those around you
