PayPal is looking for a team player to join our growing Vulnerability Operations team. The Vulnerability Operations Developer will serve as a technical expert and will work closely with partners in PayPal to automate vulnerability automation tasks. The Engineer will be responsible for understanding requirements, prioritizing and driving automation tasks to production. Successful candidates will possess a blend of general business, technology and security competencies. While enhancing and enriching the functionalities of existing tools, you will also be innovating new dashboards and operational view for the operational teams. This position will be getting great exposure of working with highly skilled engineers and vendors.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Responsible for implementation of new security mechanisms and automated mitigations
  • Design, Develop, Test and Deploy the code artifacts
  • Work with global network engineers to automate vulnerability operations by Demisto playbooks/Splunk.
  • Comfortably able to work in Agile methodology with fast pace deliveries and high-quality code
  • Innovate new solutions for Vulnerability Operations and Contribute to the ecosystem by open-sourcing it
  • Improve test coverage for services, implement integration tests and resolve problem areas 
     

Job Requirements:

  • Great Splunk skills - Mandatory
  • 2-4 years of experience in programming and/or scripting preferably in Cyber Security domain
  • Good programming and debugging skills in JavaScript and Python
  • Good experience with REST APIs and JSON data schemas
  • Experience with database querying (Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL)
  • Hands on experience on Splunk and Demisto tools  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant course of study
  • Deep understanding of tools and processes used in vulnerability management and security incident
  • Propose additional components and techniques that could be used to proactively enhance automated processes
  • Recommend configuration changes to improve the performance, usability, and value of vulnerability operations tools
  • Must be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and participate in incident remediation as needed
  • Responsible for team training through enhancement of technical skills and active participation in the team function performance process
