We are seeking a Sanctions Tuning Analyst to support and optimize the filter of our payments screening system. This role will primarily involve assisting in the Fircosoft implementation, tuning and optimization testing, output optimization, managing governmental and internal sanctions lists, providing technical support, tuning systems daily to reduce false positive alerts, prepare tuning data, reviewing hit reduction strategies, etc.


  • Manage governmental and internal sanctions list updates as part of the FircoSoft List management program;
  • Liaise with technology partners and operations on sanctions screening issues, including list management, rules and good guys;
  • Perform hit rate analysis and analyze screening results to create Exceptions (Good Guys) and assist with creating tailored business rules;
  • Perform data analysis to look for commonalities and patterns that exist; 
  • Create and execute test cases and scripts for testing of changes and releases; 
  • Understand and assess the use of FircoSoft algorithms, list exclusions, and rules to reduce the false positive hit rate.
  • Provide on call support on a rotating basis.


  • Ability to independently manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities; 
  • Ability to rapidly learn new concepts (technical, risk, business) a critical success factor in this role;
  • Team-oriented, must be self-motivated, plan and manage time effectively, and be customer focused;
  • Detailed, thorough, diligent individual with basic data analysis, and time management skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences;
  • Experience in financial industry, with payments/e-Commerce knowledge preferred;
  • Experience with SQL scripting (Oracle, MS SQL), Python, and tableau preferred;
  • Knowledge of the economic sanctions programs administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets control, and a general knowledge of sanctions evasion practices is also desirable;
  • Experience with compliance system FircoSoft tuning or other industry leading compliance tools is preferred;
  • BA/BS required.
