The Global Financial Crime Sanctions Analytics team is looking for a Sanctions Compliance Manager with 8+ years experience in sanctions compliance within a financial institution. This role will lead the day-to-day management of our sanctions scanning systems through batch profile scanning and real time scanning activities, as well as development and enhancement of our Sanctions program through data and business analysis. Strong understanding of database systems and data analysis is a requirement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance for designing global sanctions screening platforms and controls for PayPal's diverse product offering, consistent with PayPal's enterprise global sanctions policy and all applicable global sanctions regulations.
  • Perform data analysis design business requirements, understand emerging issues, perform estimation and verify implementation of new features and enhancements.
  • Plan, design, develop and test configurations for Sanction screening applications;

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with OFAC, UN, and other Global Sanctions regulatory guidance
  • Experience managing the configuration and performance of client and transaction sanction screening systems
  • Familiarity with payments (preferably global) and associated transaction alert reviews
  • Familiarity with client screening and associated alert reviews
  • Experience developing and documenting requirements for enhancements to sanctions screening systems in line with audit and regulatory expectations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Legal, Product, Operations and Technology partners regarding sanctions requirements and controls
  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale complex project management initiatives with high attention to detail and accuracy; while multitasking and meeting deadlines despite competing priorities
  • Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build complete and efficient systems and controls, and juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience performing analysis with SQL, Python and visualization software such as Tableau at a minimum. Experience with HIVE or Spark a plus.
  • BA/BS required,
  • 8+ years of sanctions experience.
