The Mexico Sales Director, based in Mexico City, is key utility player who will work collaboratively with Enterprise Sales Global & Regional leaders, Mexico General Manager and other Global & Regional teams in order to define strategies and facilitate decision-making, planning and execution to help drive Sales of new business and existing PayPal business performance.

PayPal’s Head of Sales or Enterprise Sales Mexico will be responsible for owning business results, negotiating and leading high-impact strategic partnerships as well as to identifying and generating step change growth opportunities for the Large Enterprise and Global Accounts market in Mexico.

The partnerships will range from those that unlock significant merchant growth and engagement, to those that help PayPal scale as a business. Identifying step change growth opportunities require, strategic thinking, deep data analysis and great project management skills to ensure proper execution. In addition, the person responsible will be a liaison between corporate teams and regional needs to foster collaboration and to bring new products that can fuel growth in the region.

The ideal candidate has proven experience working closely with all levels of leadership (senior Execs to line managers) and applying consultative skills, including business acumen, client focus, and the ability to influence and partner. 

He/She will decide and execute priority actions, working with cross functional teams. This person thrives in a dynamic, global, fast-paced, matrix environment and has a passion for results. This is a visible - influencer and enabler role requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. It’s not a role for people who like to operate behind the scenes.

Responsibilities include:

•        Set, execute and lead Enterprise Sales market strategy with full P&L responsibility.

•        Draft, advocate and communicate strategy to regional teams and cross-functional leadership.

•        Identify step change growth opportunities for the market. 

•        Negotiate multi-faceted, complex deals for the country and ensure proper partnership management for Partner Program Manager. 

•        Manage the full project lifecycle from ideation through launch.

•        Work cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance.

•        Drive new product introduction for Mexico. 

•        Conduct business analytics to support each opportunity and monitor performance data. 

•        Ability to set expectations and manage stakeholder relationships successfully. 

•        Ability to build internal and external alliances to gain and share information including industry trends.

•        Manage marketing budget and financials to drive ROI and financial compliance.

•        Hands on managing end to end responsibility from the strategy creation to project management (operations and implementation). 

•        Develop and deliver effective internal briefs to cross-disciplinary agencies, ensuring plans leverage the brand and value proposition, and are tied to business objectives.

•        Deliver campaigns results aligned with projects KPIs. 

•        Orchestrate end-to-end strategy and execution of B2B / Trade Marketing Programs aimed to accelerate Business acquisition. E.g: Relationship Program for Large Enterprise accounts, e-commerce platforms, Incentive Programs.

There are also opportunities to be a majority contributor to substantial go-to-market plans and support new product launches that drive significant signup volume.

•        A person who can be a change agent in a highly dynamic, ambiguous environment and drive operational excellence

•        A person with good communication skills, who can forge key internal/external relationships across complex organizations

•        A person who can drive through influence, partnership and collaboration

•        A person who models and drives open, honest, and direct communications


•        At least 5 years of Technology/online industry experience or team management experience, with strategy consulting experience. 

•        At least 3 years proven experience in managerial skills (managing people – teams).

•        MBA degree / Fluency in English and Spanish

•        Knowledge of online products and market dynamics; understanding of PayPal’s strategic and competitive position

•        Large scale project management experience. Track record of effectively delivering large-scale and/or multiple projects at one time in very fast-moving environment.

•        Ability to provide direction and prioritize team goals and workload.

•        Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively across functions and geographies. Demonstrated analytical skills; ability to develop strategy, business plans, customer and market insights, analyze campaign effectiveness/ROI.
