• The PayPal global sales organization acquires merchant and partners via direct and indirect sales teams. The Global Sales CFO team works closely with the Sales leadership to decide the strategy and priorities needed to grow the global business and also owns the Global sales compensation function to drive the right compensation structure in line with the Sales strategy. The Finance director for Sales Compensation, reporting to the Global Sales CFO org, will be a strategic thought partner to Sales leadership team and will lead the design, implementation, administration and communication of motivating incentive programs for our high performing, globally located Sales, Telesales and Business Development teams. We are looking for a strong leader and business partner who can provide guidance and recommendations based on analytics to design plans, set targets and monitor effectiveness of the comp plans throughout the year.

Job Description


  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to the Sales Ops and compensation teams.
  • Develop sales compensation plans, metrics and reporting to assess the quality and effectiveness of quota setting and influence changes for upcoming quota cycles. This will involve close partnership with other team members across Finance and Sales Operations.
  • Develop metrics and reports to assess effectiveness of incentive designs through regular sales attainment reviews relative to business results and provide recommendations for incenting improvements
  • Lead the annual compensation planning cycles and provide expert counsel through insights for stakeholder reviews and future design cycles
  • Work across PayPal to partner with stakeholders on the HR, Finance, and Legal teams as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with all employment and tax laws
  • Partner across all internal teams to ensure a seamless, optimal experience for Sales leaders and employees when engaging with the finance organization
  • Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports and others on the compensation analytics team


  • 10–12 or more years of Sales Finance and compensation experience with a minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills (Excel)
  • Accomplished leadership skills, including individual and team development, modeling of leadership principles and successful teamwork.
  • Highly skilled in influencing at all levels of an organization. Confident, positive, collaborative leadership presence
  • Proven ability to launch and operate programs and processes globally
  • Creative problem solving skills. Ability to accurately compile and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, HR or related area
