As a Risk Operations Manager, you will lead the local Risk team in Mexico. You will be responsible for all Risk Operations related matters for the Mexican market, in close collaboration and support from our offices in Stockholm and London. You will handle complex and dynamic situations regarding seller credit card processing, chargebacks, fraud, money laundering and terrorism financing. You will make solution-oriented decisions and be comfortable working in a fast paced and often unpredictable environment. Ideal candidates are natural leaders, highly ambitious and strong team players. We’re looking for efficiency, inspiration and high levels of the sense of responsibility. You will need to be a comfortable cross-team collaborator. Motivation, understanding, communication and emotional intelligence are some of the core characteristics we are looking for in potential candidates

What we are looking for… 

  • 4+ years of full-time work experience in the card payment industry with focus on risk management procedures. 

  • Profound understanding of banking industry, financial markets and industry related regulations and policies. 

  • Extensive team lead experience. 

  • Knowledge of the Mexican financial market and card payment-related procedures.  

  • Experience working in Financial Crime (Fraud & AML/CTF).  

  • Understanding of in KYC, EDD and local/international regulations. 

  • SAS, SQL programming skills. 

  • Excellent Spanish and English verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Analytical, problem solving and advising skills. Ability to generate and present analysis based on high-risk scenarios, appropriately assessing situations based on data, experience, intuition, and judgment. 

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Candidates should be adaptable to change and willing to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.

  • Demonstrates strong corporate work ethics and integrity. 

  • Excellent Customer Service Attitude. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required: Systems, Actuary, Finance, BA, or related.  

As a Risk Operations Manager, you will: 

  • Be the Zettle Mexico’s go-to person for all Risk related matters. 

  • Lead the Risk Operations team in close collaboration with HQ in Europe. 

  • Execute on strategy & tactics. 

  • Be an operative team leader and set your team for success by collaborating closely with other stakeholders and teams. 

  • Clearly communicate the product plans, objectives and performance measures and progress against plans to all stakeholders. Tailoring communication as appropriate to ensure relevance to the audience is essential. 

  • Collaborate and partner closely with leaders across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, Marketing and Legal, as well as external partners. Maintain a strong point of view on what is best for the user and for a safe Zettle, free from illegal activity. 

  • Monitor transactions and conduct analysis related to merchant card processing. 

  • Identify risk, chargeback, fraud and compliance issues. 

  • Perform risk assessments on KYC and EDD. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
