This Risk and Compliance Program Enablement role will serve as the Risk and Compliance Business Partner’s primary point of contact within the Risk and Compliance Program Enablement team as well as a key point of contact for the first line of defenses’ Business Risk and Compliance Leads (BRCLs) and various First Line Risk Management support members supporting PayPal’s Corporate Affairs which includes Human Resources, Legal and Social Innovations organizations.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

This role will serve as the Risk and Compliance Business Partner’s (RCBPs) primary point of contact within the Risk and Compliance Program Enablement team as well as a key point of contact for the first line of defenses’ Business Risk and Compliance Leads (BRCLs) and various First Line Risk Management support members supporting PayPal’s Corporate Affairs which includes Human Resources, Legal and Social Innovations organizations and will be responsible for:

  • Providing support on all risk management matters for the Risk and Compliance Business Partner(s) relating to the oversight of risks and controls for critical business processes/activities for all relevant risks. This includes being prepared with agreed upon reporting and responding to ad-hoc requests in support of the business.
  • Supporting key risk and compliance initiatives, including but not limited to internal process transformations, system implementation readiness, and organizational change. 
  • Overseeing the development of new products to ensure identification and mitigation of all risks and that regulatory requirements are met, providing appropriate read outs and escalations to the Risk and Compliance Business Partners.
  • Assisting in the execution and oversight of regulatory change management, risk assessments, business process mapping, and complaints root cause analysis.
  • Supporting ongoing and targeted compliance monitoring and/or testing, by regulators, internal audit, first line testers, and second line testers.
  • Providing ongoing support of business unit’s issue management and remediation efforts.
  • Assisting with the development of SOPs and applicable policies.
  • Preparing ongoing reports summarizing the business units’ risk and control environment.
  • Engaging key Risk and Compliance SMEs/program stakeholders to help support business unit initiatives and risk identification.
  • Working in a highly matrixed environment to ensure the effective execution of PayPal’s risk management program.
  • Building strong relationships with Risk and Compliance Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts, Market Partners, Internal Control Partners and/or First Line Risk Management Support professionals.

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • 7-10 years of Audit, Compliance, Regulatory, Risk Management or similar experience.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective leadership skills and ability to operate comfortably and independently within a complex cultural, global environment.
  • Experience in managing risk programs in Human Resources and/or Legal
  • Proficiency in managing large scale changes.
  • Possess sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive/achieve results.
  • Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Operate with strong integrity with the ability to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
