PayPal’s Branded Experiences P2P & Xoom Risk team is seeking a highly motivated Risk Analyst 2, with a positive attitude, desire to prevent online fraud and want to join the world’s top risk talents in solving some of the most challenging problems in a collaborative global environment that promotes learning and rewards innovation. The ideal candidates are problem solvers, equipped with strong analytical skills suited to approach varied challenges in complex environments, and able to deconstruct the problem and transform personal insights into large scale, state-of-the-art solutions.

  • Analyze data covering a wide range of information from user profile to transaction history. Identify new fraud patterns based on risk indicators, complex root cause analysis, prevent loss and enable business and better customer experience and deploy solutions to secure revenue and loss targets 

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert of the business processes across PayPal’s and Xoom’s risk platform and operational tools 

  • Create real time, automated and effective near real time monitoring reports with emphasis on readability and visualization using tools like Tableau 

  • Develop and document policies and best practice frameworks setting standards for core business segments and processes. 

  • Works on assignments that are of intermediate complexity with multiple steps in execution, and guided by generally defined processes and project requirements 

  • Focuses primarily on completing short-term goals of a project efficiently and effectively 

  • Partner with Risk Scientist and be able to articulate opportunities and risk mitigation needs and provide exceptional global solutions 

  • Expert understanding of Story Based approach to problem solving and solutioning, with ability to exercise judgment to create process/policy requirements 

  • Advanced familiarization with PayPal’s major products & flows and how their role impacts & influences them 

  • Expert familiarity with PayPal’s risk flows and actions and how they can be deployed to solve business problems 

  • Collaborate with other teams for an end-to-end solution and achieve effective business results 

  • Ability to respond to executive and customer escalations with the highest quality standards. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Passionate about analyzing fraud and identifying opportunities to improve customer experience.  

  • Highly motivated, result-oriented self-starter enjoys working in a fast-pace environment and can deliver successful results with minimal guidance. 

  • Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with other teams across the business to achieve effective business results 

  • High School diploma or educational equivalent with 3+ years relevant work experience. 

  • SQL experience is required 

  • 3+ years of experience in the following areas: Fraud/Risk
