Business Continuity analyst to support the BCM lifecycle and incident response

The Resiliency Analyst role in FLOD Center of Excellence is responsible for assisting FLOD Resiliency members within the Functional Area in the understanding of BC practices to improve the development, maintenance and execution of all business continuity / resiliency framework tasks and events.  Under the direction of the Resiliency COE Director, the Resiliency Analyst supports the COE Resiliency program in ensuring policy adherence of business continuity plans, quality assurance of data and analysis, and testing strategies that ensure the validity of RTO of company processes. Provides consultation, guidance, sharing of best practices, and advocates for plan improvements in the area of business and technology continuity impact analysis, strategy recovery planning, plan exercising, after-action reporting, evaluation, and delivers recommendations to improve program.

  • Produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Collaborates with planners and coordinators to ensure critical processes are identified and strategies are in place in the event of a significant business interruption.
  • Identifies opportunities to simplify recovery processes and to minimize business disruptions.
  • Seeks subject matter experts to support in developing, maintain, or implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including business impact analyses, strategy selection, the documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
  • Plan, conduct, and debrief regular schedule mock-BC activation exercises to validate the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, and reports on the updating of procedures and plans regularly.
  • Act as the FLOD COE coordinator representative for continuity efforts after a disruption event.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
  • Identifies gaps to improve critical operations can continue or are resumed as quickly as possible.
  • Facilitates collaboration and consensus among Planners and Coordinators on scheduling annual tabletop exercise and provides a peer review of after action exercise report, records lessons learned, and provides follow-up activities to improve plan and program.

Prerequisite Knowledge and Proficiency

  • This position requires resourcefulness, good judgment, persistence, and flexibility
  • Relationship management skills with ability to collaborate, influence and build professional relationships in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to approach problems in a quantitative and qualitative manner, and partner with the business to define recovery needs, and drive the solution
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the organization, business products and services, and technology solutions to act as an adviser among all stakeholders
  • Participates with other stakeholders to establish strategic plans and objectives
  • Conducts, communicates, and follows the resiliency life-cycle.

Experience:

  • BS/BA degree or work equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams and MS Project
  • CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) a plus but not required
  • Experience in business continuity planning or relevant field such as, emergency management, disaster recovery or resiliency management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and “follow through” skills
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and draw conclusions from research conducted
  • Takes initiatives, is proactive, self-motivator, self-starter, result driven out of the box thinker
  • Familiar with business continuity best practices and protocols
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • High energy and creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to work in a fast growth and changing environment
