Working as part of the global Regulatory Reporting and Governance team, the Regulatory Reporting Senior Analyst will support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to Financial Regulators for PayPal's credit and e-money business together with monitoring and forecasting of regulatory metrics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete periodic reporting submissions to Financial Regulators in EMEA, primarily for the credit business and Anacredit
  • Execute the end-to-end data process for report production utilizing dedicated regulatory reporting applications including FRS and Abacus 360
  • Perform reconciliations of output against financial accounts ensuring any differences are cleared in advance or are explained as appropriate
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the reporting process including the Regulatory Reporting, Data Technology, Financial Controllership and Credit teams to maintain satisfactory data quality controls and integrity
  • Support integration of new products by managing data requirements, process set up, reporting obligations and transition to BAU
  • Implement and test regulatory reporting system changes and upgrades
  • Monitor the development of regulations in EMEA to ensure advance awareness and preparatory tasks are undertaken early to implement foreseen changes
  • Strive to create efficiencies in processes, focusing on risk reduction through automation and maximizing the use of existing functionality
  • Draft detailed risk based operating procedures and checklists focusing heavily on internal controls throughout
  • Challenge, resolve, and communicate any issues to internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors ensuring all requests and any issues are addressed timely and accurately
  • Assist the Global Regulatory Reporting and Governance team in any related initiatives outside of EMEA

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant, preferably with a Big 4 background and ~3+ years’ professional experience in in e-commerce/payments/financial services industries
  • High level of expertise in sourcing, interrogating and manipulating data in various forms/code from multiple systems/platforms
  • Technical experience dealing with multiple data systems and regulatory reporting platforms. Direct experience with SAP, FRS, Abacus 360 or similar is required
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving experience with a strong focus on quality assurance of output
  • Understanding of regulations affecting the Banking, Payments and Credit industries across EMEA and globally
  • Familiarity with local and international accounting standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English mandatory
