Job Description

At PayPal, we are rethinking how to provide diverse solutions to real-world challenges. Through the Recharge program, we encourage skilled women technologists who have taken a career break for personal or family reasons to feel equipped to return to the workforce.

Are you a technical woman who has taken a career break? Or perhaps you have taught yourself to code, but you don’t have any industry work experience. If this describes you, then you should apply for our Recharge program. Specifically, we are looking for women who have been out of the workforce for at least 1-2 years but are ready to jump back into technical roles.

Recharge is a 16-week paid program which provides individuals who want to return to the workforce an opportunity to expand their experience and network. The program will start in October 2017.

PayPal’s Consumer Operations & Infrastructure team is looking for ambitious automation developers to join us! We’re looking for talented Java or JavaScript automation developers with a passion for Quality and DevOps. We are a strategic group that includes researching and working with new technologies in order to help our delivery teams improve their delivery time to market with high confidence. We’re looking for people who can collaborate broadly and aren’t afraid to jump into unfamiliar territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently and collaboratively design, build, and test automation solutions for mobile applications
  • Partner closely with delivery, release, and tooling teams to foster a DevOps culture
  • Work effectively and communicate well to create a strong team environment
  • Drive both technology and product innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development
  • Bring product and code improvement ideas to the team

Requirements:

  • Understands coding - proficiency reading, understanding, and evaluating code in one or more standard programming language (e.g. Java, JavaScript)
  • Has developed robust automation test suites
  • Has worked in an Apache/Linux operating environment (e.g. CLI, Python/Bash Scripting)
  • Understanding of network protocols
  • A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things
  • Analytical thinker, able to take a complex problem and simplify  
  • Strong written, verbal and leadership skills, ability to influence
  • Driven to get results and not let anything get in your way
  • Show pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything they do

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 to 5  years past professional engineering experience
  • At least 1 to 2 years past professional automation experience
  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Science degree
