Merchant Servicing, the team building the next generation platform and experiences for our merchants to grow and manage their businesses, is looking for a talented full stack engineer to develop new web applications to create a world class experience for our merchant partners. Your team will own a variety of front tier apps and mid-tier services that will cater to the servicing needs of PayPal’s larger merchants. You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentation are a given. You will work with established and cutting edge technologies like JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, Node.JS, React.js, Java, Spring, Hadoop, MongoDB among others. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, a customer champion, and a standard bearer for code quality and craftsmanship.
  • Write web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, Test Driven Development.
  • Partner closely with design & product to craft great product experiences.
  • Deliver code in a DevOps environment.
  • Be a crafts person who takes pride in your code.
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment.
  • Participate in code reviews.


  • Node.js application development experience.
  • JavaScript application design and testing experience.
  • Experience building applications on top of RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as React and Flux/Redux (preferred) or Backbone/Angular/Ember
  • Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
  • Experience with JavaScript templating engine (Dust, Mustache etc).
  • Knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, and componentization approaches.
  • Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 to 5  years past professional engineering experience
  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Science degree
