The Global Financial Crimes and Customer Protection (GFC&CP) Business Analytics team is responsible for supporting operational oversight to provide alignment and consistency across GFC&CP and ensure an efficient, cost-effective and best-in-class program. As a Program Manager on the GFC&CP Global Strategy & Expansion team, your goal is to lead and coordinate plans, communications and the prioritization of initiatives with a data analytics or business intelligence dependency or focus. You will work in close collaboration with multiple areas of the company in multiple regions across PayPal’s footprint, requiring extensive communication and collaboration. The role will also be responsible for partnering closely with the Operations, Policy and Governance teams to ensure timely delivery of data related initiatives from ideation through deployment. Ideal candidates will be required to handle more than one complex initiative at a time while exhibiting a deft balance between necessary technical expertise, team management, communication skills, and business acumen. This includes developing execution strategies, ensuring smooth coordination between groups with a variety of skillsets and facilitating collaboration between various technical and non-technical support teams and stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for critical work streams that request data, analysis and reporting support and deliverables for GFC&CP leaders.
  • Work with partners within Operations, Compliance Project Management and Business Enablement teams, to define business requirements, prioritize, manage & communicate detailed initiative plans together with agreed timelines, identifying critical milestones, interdependencies and risks.
  • Translate highly complex data plans and strategies to stakeholders in a way that effectively resonates with mass audiences
  • Support cross-functional project teams for Policy & Compliance driven initiatives obtaining resources as needed to deliver on the project’s data related commitments.
  • Update senior management/ stakeholders on progress against plans on a regular basis and escalate issues as required.
  • Proactively work to resolve potential conflicts, issues and risks associated with data challenges on projects.
  • Monitor and follow up post project delivery to ensure all outstanding issues are resolved and Control Plans are implemented.
  • Deploy best practice project and program management methodologies.
  • Proactively identify and manage specific issues and risks and work with all cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Advise and work with program leaders and champions (senior & executive management) to develop reporting strategies for success and adoption measurements

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s, Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent in Finance, Legal, Criminal Justice or a comparable field is preferred, MBA or JD would be an advantage
  • Six or more years of program, product and/or project management experience or equivalent, ideally at a Financial services company; other experience levels outside of this will be considered for the correct candidate
  • Experience managing and implementing back-end operations applications and working on process efficiencies for Compliance operations preferred
  • Ability to combine technical expertise and business understanding to create commercial benefits
  • Formal Project Management Qualification, or Process Management equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects or driving improvements to products or processes
  • Strong working knowledge of Regulatory Compliance laws, processes, industry best practices, and operational controls
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong level of initiative
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services, ideally fraud and credit risk operations or management
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers and peers
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of leadership, organization, and time management skills
  • Well-developed sense of urgency and follow through
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure
