Product Marketing is a highly “strategic” role that sits at the intersection of product, sales, marketing & customer success The Product Marketing team is setup to drive product commercial success in partnership with Marketing, Global Product and Sales teams. Product Marketing Manager’s (PMM) accomplish this by deeply understanding and consistently championing the needs of the customer as a representative voice in all discussions and decisions, ensuring product and feature releases solve tangible customer pain points. The Marketplace PMM is responsible for building a deep understanding of the market, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and financial services system as well as local culture & interaction with PayPal’s products & services across all Marketplace vertical. The Marketplaces PMM will connect the dots between Market, Global Marketing, Product and Sales teams at a vertical level to ensure accurate definition and prioritization of product and feature releases, improvements and bug fixes and the successful introduction of these products into the market.

The Marketplace PMM role is divided into the following areas of responsibility:

  • Being an advocate for the vertical globally
  • Defining what is needed in the market for the marketplace vertical
  • Managing the roadmap and ensuring stakeholders have a clear understanding
  • Ensuring the launch of new solutions goes smoothly

From an inbound perspective, the Marketplace PMM continually defines the most important customer needs and opportunities. They actively engage with global customers to deeply understand their needs as well as any unique country, regulatory, and currency requirements. The Marketplace PMM will create a clear understanding of opportunities across the vertical to allow prioritization at the global level.

They also help answer priority customer questions and requests with the local business, providing deep expertise about our products and how they are best used in the Marketplace vertical, appropriately handing off issues and bugs to Product.

During all phases of the product lifecycle, PMM’s relentlessly represent the customer needs and bring the voice of the customer into all interactions and decisions.

From an outbound perspective, the Marketplace PMM performs the in-market activities to ensure successful Pilot testing and Product feedback. In addition they also lead the global execution of any deprecation of a product for their vertical.

They orchestrate local go to market across sales, marketing & functions at country level and ensure local understanding of global product delivery.

The ideal candidate should have experience in –

  • Min Bachelor, Master and/or MBA preferred
  • Financial services offered to Marketplaces
  • Managing complex initiatives
  • Influencing senior stakeholders across the organization
  • Great communication skills
  • Working with Product Management teams to define and deliver customer features and solutions
  • Other languages
