PayPal's Personalization Platform team is hiring a Product Manager to drive the next generation Personalization Platform to meet PayPalʼs global customer experiences needs and demands. The Product Manager will be responsible to lead problem & solution discovery for the Personalization Platform (including server derive UI template , data profile and the needed ML intelligence capabilities to show the right experiences for the right customers) that can be used to devise scalable and flexible product personalization experiences across various geographies.

About Our Team:
In the Consumer Experiences and Platform organization, we are responsible for delivering exceptional experiences for all consumers of PayPal services.  We are fierce consumer advocates, who work hard to optimize our account creation, in-app, and online experiences for account servicing to best meet our customer’s needs.  While each domain team has deep knowledge and responsibility in their areas, we are also a horizontal organization, meaning that we work closely with cross-functional teams across all of PayPal, Inc to ensure we are supporting the latest and greatest products and services, legal or compliance requirements, and other business priorities. 

Our team is directly responsible for a number of experiences and platforms, including onboarding and early lifecycle, dashboard and navigation, and the core platform products and strategy.   



Your Role:

PayPal's Personalization Platform team is hiring a Product Manager to drive the next generation Personalization Platform to meet PayPalʼs global customer experiences needs and demands. The Product Manager will be responsible to lead problem & solution discovery for the Personalization Platform (including server derive UI template , data profile and the needed ML intelligence capabilities to show the right experiences for the right customers) that can be used to devise scalable and flexible product personalization experiences across various geographies. As a Product Manager in this space, you will manage the end-to- end development of complex personalization capabilities (Rule and ML based sequencing , ranking/recommendation & KPI optimization etc ) that will 

enable personalization solutions for PayPal with the best customer
experience. You will partner with product & technology teams to build & scale new & or existing capabilities. You will collaborate with cross functional stakeholders from operations, internal domain teams, marketing to effectively understand business needs from the platform, devise capabilities and communicate the value proposition of product roadmap. 

Responsibilities:
 

In your role as a Product Manager, you will:  

  • Lead the discovery phases for new platform capability development with a set of cross functional stakeholders from various engineering & product
    teams, business & domain stakeholders, and operations teams. 
  • Use the following core platform principles as part of discovery: a) Empowering different types of platform users like developers, product managers, etc. b) Developer friendly APIs c) Product manager friendly experiences d) Striving for long term sustainability. 
  • Drive innovation, ideation discussions with partners, product requirements definition, deliverables planning and execution. 
  • Ensure product vision and requirements are defined globally, with long-term and scale in mind. 
  • Evaluate trade-offs amongst multiple solutions and influence roadmap for one or more service/feature areas based on technical feasibility, business timelines and customer impact. 
  • Author product requirements, epics, user stories across multiple complex and cross-functional feature/ service areas and create flow documents to ensure solutions are architected to cover Business needs and requirements. 
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact and work with implementation teams to deliver multi sprint roadmaps while optimizing time to market. 
  • Establish deep understanding of platform and technology in product area to create scalable & flexible solutions. 
  • Recommend new processes, workarounds, and flow changes to ensure constant improvement and evolution of the Personalized Consumer experience. 
  • Conduct market research, gather feedback from internal regional & operations teams and analyze existing product flows, contact reasons and net-promoter- scores to identify experience gaps. 
  • Participate in the QA process to ensure the final product meets the business design. 
  • Clearly solicit feedback and distill vision, strategy, product benefits and results to our internal customers. 
  • Monitor impact of product features and key metrics. 
  • Troubleshoot product issues and answer product questions – be a Personalization and segmentation ‘expertʼ

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related professional experience or masterʼs degree and 6+ years of experience. 
  • Skilled at working with cross functional groups and matrix organizations in multiple geographies. 
  • Demonstrated data driven approach to draw insights and influence decisions on what to build. 
  • Ability for system design and management of API as a product. 
  • Strong writing skills and ability to converse with technical and non-technical personnel fluently, articulating complex business factors, progress, issues and recommendations in a concise manner to all levels and functions. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, handling multiple priorities concurrently with minimal guidance is a must. 
  • Deep desire to grow and learn and passion for PayPalʼs vision to democratize money. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Personalization domain in an Internet application, Payments, e- Commerce or Online Banking 
  • Experience working on technical API definitions and platform product management 
  • Experience with Agile development as a product owner for a scrum team, design thinking and customer centric approach
  • Experiences on any recommender systems
