Team Overview The Merchant Unbranded Processing is responsible for creating delightful payment solutions that enable PayPal’s Enterprise, Partner, and SMB Direct merchants to grow and scale their payments reliably, compliantly, and safely across the globe. The Enterprise Card Processing team is a critical part of the Merchant Unbranded Processing organization. This team is responsible for building payment experiences that enable billions of transactions for Braintree merchants i.e. PayPal’s Enterprise merchants. Some of the areas we work on include Geo-Expansion, Cost Optimization, Network Compliance, Processing Reliability.

As a Product Leader for the Enterprise Card Processing team, you will be responsible to drive card processing globally across Enterprise / Braintree card processing volume. Braintree represents the Enterprise merchant segment for PayPal.

In this role, you will bring together passion and diligence for creating exceptional merchant experiences along with deep technical payments expertise. You will be responsible to lead one or more products and drive the product vision for these products.

You will be responsible for executing the product roadmap against the vision will be delivering world-class payment experiences to our merchants. You will work in a cross-functional environment and will collaborate with and influencing teams across Engineering, Sales, Support, Product Marketing, Go to market, Professional services, and other Product teams. As the Lead Product Manager, you will closely coach and guide the Product Managers on your team and be able to step into the details and alternatively step back into a 10,000-foot view.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, have a keen eye for detail, be willing to dive into key strategic initiatives, and work collaboratively across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Focus: Drive the Enterprise Card Processing product domain strategy, and roadmap in a way that enables our competitive edge and aligns the strategy with the overall product and company vision.
  • Customer Focus: Understand and represent merchants' needs across segments and use this deep understanding to drive effective prioritization and decisions.
  • Strategy & Vision: Identify new opportunities and best practices based on research, industry trends and drive innovation within the product team.
  • Decision Making: Make tough priority calls and trade-offs balancing available time and critical business needs.
  • Data-Driven: Define and measure key performance indicators to evaluate and understand product value and take a data-based approach to Product Management.
  • Communication: Working cross-functionally across multiple stakeholders to ensure the product delivers against business objectives.
  • Collaboration: Represent the products to stakeholders and peers across PayPal in a way that clearly articulates the product vision.
  • People Development: Lead and coach a team of high-performing Product Managers, help remove roadblocks and bring structure and definition to ambiguous challenges.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate business acumen and product knowledge inside the payments ecosystem, specifically in eCommerce card processing.
  • Proven track record for building, launching, and maintaining successful products at scale.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills, is comfortable with ambiguity and, demonstrates out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Demonstrates accountability, attention to detail, and poise while handling complex situations with multiple workstreams and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills- comfortable equally in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions and ability to influence effectively at all levels of management.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead a team of payments product managers.
  • 12+ years of payments, card processing, or related product management experience 
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in a quantitative or technical field.
