The Payroll Accountant will be supporting the Payroll function for PayPal Asia Pacific entities, and the role is based in Singapore.

  • Full scope of payroll processing: Working with HR and the payroll vendor to process the payroll timely, check and review payroll reports / time sheet, make journal entries for the monthly payroll, and ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance to local requirements 
  • Ensure payroll withholding tax including stock (ESPP & RSU; Employee Shares Purchase Program & Restricted Stock Units) are processed / reported and paid on a timely basis 
  • Ensuring final payments to terminated/resigned employees are processed and made timely according to local requirements 
  • Payroll reporting - submit payroll reports including but not limited to ESPP, TIP (Target Incentive Plan) and AIP (Annual Incentive Plan) reports timely to corporate 
  • Tax – working with payroll vendor to ensure payroll and employee related tax, monthly / quarterly / annual tax filing are done timely 
  • Developing and maintaining positive internal and external relationships (HR and Finance team, payroll service providers)
  • Month end closing - ensure booking are closed properly and timely, and proper reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Audit - supporting the annual internal and external audit by preparing payroll records and supporting documents as required
  • Compliance - ensure conformity with all policies and procedures, internal controls and also applicable SOX requirements
  • Any adhoc tasks or projects as requested

  • Preferably a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant working experience, in an international/US-based company
  • Someone with relevant payroll administration and systems experience (Workday or SAP) will be advantageous
  • Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Acrobat and PowerPoint
  • This is a business & time critical position to ensure operational delivery in the team
