We have a current opening for an Analyst to Join the PayPal Ventures team in San Jose. This position reports to the Sr. Director of PayPal Ventures. The PayPal Ventures team is investing out of its second fund and the number of companies in our portfolio continues to grow. We are looking for an Operations Analyst to support the team, support our portfolio companies, enhance the PayPal Ventures brand & help us expertly fulfill on our mandate to deliver strategic sensing value back to PayPal leaders / business units.

  • Strategic sensing material development – Perform analysis and create collateral that helps senior leaders understand key trends, learnings and dynamics of the venture ecosystem
  • Ventures external communications – Create and manage external communications to our portfolio companies and the broader ecosystem (email newsletter, off-cycle announcements, LinkedIn, Twitter, PPV website), including all approvals & cross-functional signoffs
  • Ventures Internal communications – Create and manage internal communications within PayPal to drive greater internal awareness & deal flow (email newsletter, off-cycle announcements, TechTalks, Webinars)
  • Event planning – Plan digital & in-person PayPal & portfolio company events; coordinate conference presence
  • Operating workstreams – Execute against ad hoc operating workstreams (PayPal organizational mapping, case study development and approvals, portfolio support material development, etc.)
  • Assist in follow-ups from our sensing meetings and internal meetings
  • Act as a resource and touchpoint for our portfolio companies


  • 4+ years experience in Operations, Marketing, Consulting, Analytics or Product at a technology company
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – able to clearly and concisely explain concepts and insights
  • Strong storytelling & PowerPoint skills
  • Strong analytical skills, fluency in performing broad quantitative analysis
  • Understanding and fluency in social tools – LinkedIn, Twitter
  • Attention to detail; great follow-through
  • Interest and general understanding of venture and the startup community
  • Adept with technology and a strategic thinker – knows what’s best for the business
  • Excellent judgment, mature personality, and experience working with executives
  • Team player, pro-active and action oriented, anticipates needs, organized, is assertive, and is highly accountable
