The Partner Manager is responsible for defining and executing the local strategy to drive growth and value through the channel segments in Middle East and Africa with specific focus on payment gateway partnerships.

  • Drive channel partner strategy for PayPal Middle East and Africa to expand the reach of PayPal and build merchant ubiquity in the market through focused payment gateway partnerships

  • Implement and execute on the strategic plan to aggressively drive PayPal’s growth through channel partnerships, expand reach to small & medium business merchants.

  • Prepare a robust operating plan, sales targets, and accurate business forecasts so that budgets and forecasts are consistently met and exceeded.

  • Deep dive into analytics to have an excellent knowledge of channel partner revenue performance, key levers and footings contributing to revenue growth.

  • Maintain and develop existing and new channel customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal relationship managers

  • Work closely with Channel Lead on Product Marketing and Sales engineering to optimize merchant onboarding process.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for PayPal to penetrate new markets or merchants, bringing in or responding to sales initiatives when appropriate.

  • Responsible to meet and exceed financial and other targets set for individual and the team.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategy Execution – single point of contact for new on-boarding partners. Supporting Merchant on- boarding by providing sales and operational support. Be a critical part of the GTM strategy for developing and maintaining a strong engagement with exiting, on-boarding and future partners. Provide engaging and insightful knowledge about the general market, customers, competitors, and regulatory environment.

  • Ensuring the channel partner strategy is consistent with the overall market strategy and helps provide PayPal access to small and medium merchants in identified verticals.

  • Communicating clear and compelling business development priorities.

  • Garnering cross-functional resources to enable the execution of the plan.

Relationship Management –Develop relationships that create value for new and existing merchants and partners to justify PayPal’s price premium and create value for PayPal also by:

  • Developing deep understanding of clients’ businesses and innovative and unique solutions that create “win-win” situations.

  • Driving engagements from initial pitch to deal signing and on-going relationship management with senior level executives.

  • Maintaining a good understanding of the external environment to anticipate future client needs.

  • Remaining diligently and relentlessly focused on delivering the planned results, including closely monitoring performance and implementing timely, effective corrective actions when necessary.

 Qualification

  • 8-10+ years’ relevant experience in Sales with proven experience in managing key partnerships, coupled with consistent track record of meeting individual targets in the MEA region

  • Bachelor’s degree with an MBA is preferred

  • Experience in driving strategy and execution for Platform products in a top tech/ payments / financial services company at scale

  • Must have a track record of success in job performance and progression and the proven ability to both build credibility with senior management team and motivate teams

  • Strong project management skills - able to lead, prioritize, develop, and provide clear direction, influence across cross functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills required.

  • Able to work effectively in a highly-matrix, dynamic and fast paced environment; is open to change.

  • Results oriented self-starter with plenty of initiative and drive.
