About the Role:
We are looking for an Android Engineer to help shape and scale our growing portfolio of products. This person will focus on the shopping features in the PayPal Android app. These features allow our users to easily find the best deals.What You’ll Do:
As an Android Software Engineer you will:
Work closely with a product manager on product requirements and translating those requirements to technical solutions as part of new feature development
Work on both UI and platform frameworks like networking and caching
Maintain the codebase and fix bugs
Evaluate new technologies (e.g. Jetpack Compose) and methodologies (e.g. Kotlin Flow) with an emphasis on quality and performance
Architect, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with other software engineers
Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills and utilize your deep knowledge of the Android ecosystem to level up the other engineers on your teamAbout You:
Minimum of 7 years of experience working with common design patterns, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Android Development
Minimum of 1 year of experience with Kotlin
Minimum of 2 years of experience mentoring and developing software engineers
Capable of using written and verbal communication to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audienceNice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer-facing mobile applications
Strong understanding of testing best practices
Familiarity with at least one testing framework for Android

Colorado Only: The pay range for this position in Colorado starts as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus or commission if a Sales role. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining final salary. All PayPal employees are shareholders in our Company, so equity is part of our total compensation plan. This role is also eligible for health insurance, stock purchase plans, retirement savings benefits, stock awards, life insurance and disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, parental leave, vacation, and PTO.
