This role from Global Fraud Risk team offers a unique opportunity to manage payment cycle by developing machine learning/automation platform and AI applications to improve PayPal’s global business. It is essential to build up the automation pipeline/system to automate machine learning fraud prevention strategies and realize decision accuracy optimization.

Primary job responsibility:
Ÿ    Design, develop and maintain machine learning/automation platform, integrate machine learning algorithms into E2E automation pipeline, build up AI applications and UI portal. The platform/infrastructure will be used to automate machine learning strategies/solutions for PayPal consumer risk management, making sound decisions that balance risk, user experience and financial performance.

Ÿ   Develop automation tools which could be used to reduce human efforts and improve efficiency
Ÿ    Identify and address problems and issues during normal course of work and respond to risk mitigation needs quickly to solve issues with minimum guidance.
Ÿ    Develop and automate tracking functionality that monitors volume and solution efficacy. Regularly evaluate and communicate performance of automated strategies and solutions to management.
Ÿ    Participate in the formulations and implementation of departmental processes, procedures, policies and standards.
Ÿ    Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results on matters of significance to the business.
Ÿ    Look for improvement and innovation opportunities with business impact. Provide a source of high quality ideas. 

Job Requirements:

Ÿ  Proficient/Hand on with Python, Javascript, SQL etc., familiar with Java, Unix, Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive etc.
Ÿ  Strong in data science and problem solving.

Ÿ Experience with predicative modeling, data mining and analytical tool is a plus.

Ÿ  Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources is a plus

Ÿ  Solid foundation in database, common design patterns, algorithms and data structure is a plus.

Ÿ  Proven experience in employing engineering/analytics solutions on real world problems.
Ÿ    Good business sense and logical thinking. Ability to synthesize information and generalize the pattern.
Ÿ    Proven ability to work independently and proficiently on well-defined projects; Focuses primarily on how to achieve overall business objectives of a project with speed and quality
Ÿ    Effective inter-personal skills. Manage relationship with key partners across different functions. Able to collaborate with remote teams effectively.
Ÿ    Skilled in Presenting – can effectively communicate in large or small group settings.

Basic qualification:
Ÿ    Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or engineering field with 6+ year professional work experience in a relevant field. Or Master’s degree with 4+ year profession experience.
Ÿ    Industry experience in payments, e-commerce, or financial services is a strong plus
Ÿ    Fluent in English.
