Finance and Analytics data team is looking for a Business/Data Systems Analyst who will be responsible for working with Product, Technical and Business stakeholders to gather requirements, do the impact assessment by doing the data analysis and work with Technical and Business teams to understand and access the impact, design the process flow and create technical specification documents.

  • 10+ years of work experience as a data analyst
  • Strong SQL skills and data analysis experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of databases (Oracle, Hadoop, HANA & Mongo)
  • Excellent Data Analysis skills. Must be comfortable with querying and analyzing large amounts of data on Hadoop HDFS using Hive and Spark
  • Aggregate data from various sources to construct streamlined data pipelines and integrate data from multiple PayPal systems
  • Must be able to work with teams of Data Engineers and Analysts to resolve dependencies 
  • Quick Learner with an ability to ramp up in technologies and modules to meet business needs
  • Highlight bugs, blockers and coordinate with the development and operations team to come up with the best solutions/fixes and document them
  • Knowledge of Payments data or experience in Finance Accounting related projects
  • Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, define priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence, or similar User Story workflow and management tool is a must
  • Project management, Weekly and Monthly status reporting to leadership
  • Maintain, track and collaborate with dev teams to ensure project estimation for delivery
  • Works independently and is able to make decisions quickly when necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simpler terms, and effectively influence both peers and senior leadership
