PayPal is seeking an exceptional analytics leader who will manage Global Owned Channel Analytics workstreams. Being a part of this Global team, this person will have visibility upwards in the leadership and cross functional teams to create a surround sound on individual and teamwork. This person will constantly challenge the peers in the Marketing Analytics group to innovate. Marketing Analytics and ROI group as described is the backbone of marketing function and broader analytics group to keep PayPal and its companies growing. This position will report to a senior manager and both execute and coordinate/mentor work product with 1 senior analyst and 2 junior analysts in Chennai. The primary goal of this role is to observe the owned channel marketing performance, profile the performance of global programs, identify anomalies, and conduct meta-analysis and benchmarking for this channel. Owned channels are defined as email, [] marketing, and in-app marketing.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate highly automated owned channel performance reporting involving millions of discrete micro AB tests a
  • Be a thought leader for new forms of analysis and model techniques that drive performance improving changes to marketing strategic and tactical choices
  • Work with a geographically distributed team towards greater and greater quality deliverables, expanded skills, and growing needs of data science skills and more
  • Coordinate the knowledge management of the team to move innovative custom analysis, to semi-automation, prototype dashboards, to BI reporting
  • Socialize the efforts of cross-functional team which offer material gains to marketers, including decision science models and targeting audiences, expanded BI reporting that replaces previous marketing analytics deliverables
  • Mentor global analysts on tools, methods, and frameworks for solving problems
  • Time expectations: 25% stakeholder/capacity/deliverable management, 25% methodology development, 50% individual project work, coordinating with other analysts, writing code, creating executive summaries

Must have requirements:

  • Is an expert on executing / utilizing several of these methodologies: AB testing on AB tests especially email, including the use of holdout populations in lift evaluation, Creative testing, Time of Day testing, Website CX testing, Multivariate Testing
  • Must demonstrate particular expertise with the classic [requirements gathering] project phase for analytics projects
  • Must have operational experience with project/program supporting 5+ concurrent projects, executed by others
  • Has experience negotiating with stakeholders to balance speed, quality, cost, and methodology with deliverables in ways that seek to get collaboratively achieve win-win outcomes
  • Has demonstrated contribution to the knowledge and methodology of most recent employer in the form of internal wikis, Github code, white papers, and/or methodology decks. We need contributors to our knowledge base.
  • Spends >20% of time or 400 hours in the last year writing SQL, Python, or R, as part of fulfilling projects at latest job
  • Has working knowledge of creating dashboards in Tableau or other data visualization packages

Nice-to-have Qualities:

  • Expertise on methodologies like Last Touch / Multi-Touch Attribution, Uplift modeling, Marketing Mix Modeling, RFM analysis
  • Operational experience building recommendations on single or multi-channel frequency management, such as email
  • Modern operational project management expertise. Ex: Such as handling requests via a ticketing system like JIRA
  • Marketing Ad Tech experience in the area of email/audience management

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • MBA, Quant MA/MS, Strategy or Operations Consulting, or significant analytics track record required
  • 5+ year’s experience, firmly into their career, operating in a quantitative capacity
  • Must have worked with marketing stakeholders regularly in preceding 2 years
  • May have work experience in a bank, finance, product, consulting, or CRM/Performance marketing agency
