Merchant Acquisition Sales Manager (12-months Contract Training Programme) The Merchant Acquisition Sales Manager will play an important role to drive the Enterprise merchant growth for South East Asia (SEA) by managing a team of direct sales executives. This role reports to the Enterprise Sales Front Book Director and the core responsibility is to develop, coach and inspire a team of sales executives to acquire merchants in the Enterprise segment to exceed revenue goals. The sales leader will achieve this by leading a best-in-class sales team to effectively promote PayPal’s unique value proposition and act as a customer champion to help our Merchants maximize growth. He/She is knowledgeable of PayPal’s products and services, as well as trends, developments and challenges of the payments industry.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build high performing Enterprise sales team in SEA market. Deliver and exceed revenue targets and other KPIs for the Enterprise sales team 
  • Develops, communicates and implements the operational strategy, regularly leads important sales initiatives 
  • Create and maintain a strong sales culture focused on performance and positive Merchant experience 
  • Conduct 1-1 coaching to continuously improve sales capability and develop growth mindset in the sales team 
  • Drive sales discipline including performance & pipeline reporting through team meetings, 1-1s and performance management process 
  • Attract and retain talent by focusing on personal career development 
  • Develop and execute against the Enterprise sales strategy by working closely with other business leaders 
  • Work with other internal teams such as Demand Generation, Braintree, Account Management, Risk, Compliance and Marketing to optimize sales process efficiencies 
  • Provide direction and partners with channel partners to deliver on revenue targets 
  • Oversees the preparation and presentation of technical proposals and ensures that the complete plans are feasible within cost, time, and environmental constraints. 
  • Works across the Enterprise sales leadership to enable sales strategy and execution by collaborating with sales leaderships on needs and coordinating with them on execution. 


  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university
  • Min 3 years B2B sales leadership and 5+ years B2B sales experience
  • Proven track record in building successful sales teams, ability to coach and inspire others.
  • Performance and results driven, strong analytical mindset
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, eCommerce and payment industry experience preferred.
  • This is a target driven role with Revenue as a primary KPI
  • Analytically strong and ability to manage data using Excel or other tools
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time-management skills.
