This opportunity is on PayPal’s Business Financing Solutions (BFS) Analytics team, which focuses on driving success by providing quantitative insights and serving as business advisors to the organization. We are seeking world-class problem solvers who have a passion for data and a relentless focus on execution and delivery. As members of a global Analytics team, we add significant value by consistently providing clarity and insights on PayPal’s most critical initiatives and priorities.

Primarily Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify critical business problems, translating them into structured analyses, synthesizing data from multiple sources, and delivering insights that drive strategy, by partnering closely with stakeholders and Analytics teammates
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of marketing campaign performance to the business and other cross-functional partners
  • Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives
  • Analyze complex system behavior from multiple sources, performance, and application monitoring data. Deliver insights into signup & payment conversion and landing page performance by geography and product segment
  • Analyze channel performance, design and execute experiments, research, financial models and other mechanisms to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities
  • Perform highly analytical deep-dives to identify root cause and mitigation opportunities or specific actions to add value
  • Develop ad-hoc analysis and reporting and provide insightful analysis as requested

Qualifications, Skills and Behaviors:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in business/marketing/product analytics role
  • Graduate with a technical / quantitative degree from a top-tier institution. Degrees in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics are preferred
  • Experience in marketing analytics / direct mail marketing is preferred
  • Demonstrates experience, familiarity and ease with handling large data sets and crunching numbers
  • Significant experience with SAS, SQL or other statistical packages (Python, R) is required
  • Has familiarity with web analytics (Google Analytics, Double Click) and visualization tools (Qlikview, Tableau)
  • Passionate about solving problems with data and telling the story
  • Demonstrates ability to translate business questions into structured analysis and data analytics into business insights
  • Strategic thinking and mental flexibility to be able to understand both the details of the problem, as well as, the big picture/business solution.
  • Prefers data-driven decisions and highly results-oriented
