This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a highly ambitious new leadership team driving the adoption of world class SMB solutions throughout the US.  Specifically in the ATLANTA, GA location.

A Regional Lead in Market Development will act as a champion for SMBs and our organisation. Demonstrating deep knowledge and passion for their local geography, the challenges of small businesses and the solutions to help them succeed. Responsible for implementing a strategy designed to accelerate growth of the Zettle by PayPal merchant base in their territory. A Regional Lead will recruit, coach and retain a high-performing business development team focussed on growing our merchant base through direct acquisition, local partnerships and high value account management.  


Additional responsibilities and requirements include: 


Outstanding people management and coaching   

  • Have a burning passion for leadership, driving best practice and high standards of performance  

  • Ability to direct and inspire team members using excellent communication skills 

  • Organization and execution of team huddles, 1:1’s, forecast meetings and events 

  • Assist and coach team members in the field by attending prospect/account meetings    


Strategic growth of your region 

  • Deep understanding of Paypal Zettle solutions, core segments, partner eco-system and competitor landscape 

  • Ability to plan, build and maintain a large pipeline of new business and local partnership opportunities 

  • Ability to work collaboratively across sales, marketing and operations in order to plan and execute new acquisition campaigns  


Shaping and driving our strategy  

  • Working closely with the regional team to collate local and industry level insights to support strategic planning  

  • Key stakeholder for Market Development within cross functional forums and projects  

  • Lead by example through the identification of new commercial opportunities for both regional and national Market Development


Operational best practice  

  • Ability to use CRM (Salesforce) and analytics platforms to monitor and measure performance 

  • Use data driven insights to identify opportunities that will improve the efficiency of our sales process 

  • Deliver accurate monthly revenue forecasts and activity reports for senior management   

  • Deliver against team/individual KPIs and targets 


Directly reporting to Head of Market Development US.  



  • Minimum 5+ years sales/business development  

  • Minimum 3+ years people management  

  • BA/BS qualification or equivalent experience 

  • Fluent in Spanish Preferred
