As Senior Manager, Software Development you are responsible for the technology decisions that enable the business plan and will manage an engineering team in an agile environment. You will be responsible for providing guidance to managers/engineers and making relevant decisions related to technology solutions. The key to the success of this position is having strong & innovative approach to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication (written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a self starter and self motivated individual with strong Management and technology skills, commitment to quality, positive work ethic and a "can do" attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s business. Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate search as a service for their product development
  • Discover new opportunities to grow and optimise the business through analytics, financial modelling, and business case development
  • Analyse channel performance, design and execute experiments, research, financial models and other mechanisms to identify, evaluate and prioritise opportunities
  • Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives
  • Perform analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and specific actions required
  • Work hand in hand with Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering and senior executives to rapidly execute and iterate
  • Manage outsourced contractors to execute heavy SQL work.
  • Ability to understand what matters most and prioritise ruthlessly
  • Comfort with ambiguity and frequent context-switching in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. I.e., whether in PowerPoint or an elevator pitch, you need to translate complex concepts into layman’s terms and influence both peers and senior leadership
