In this role, you will be a member of the Global Sales Enablement Content Team that is tasked with developing and delivering world-class programs that enable PayPal’s Sales organization to sell into the world’s top organizations. Our team’s primary role is to provide high-impact sales tools to improve and accelerate new merchant and enterprise deals and increase share of checkout through cross-sell and upsell of PayPal solutions.

The challenge of this role is to create and deliver content for salespeople and prospects that tells the story how the PayPal Platform differentiates in a fiercely competitive environment. We like to view ourselves as storytellers tasked with presenting the value of PayPal capabilities in a factual and effective way that resonates with our merchants and can drive successful behaviors in our Sales teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and how PayPal differentiates from their offerings. You will craft stories that leverage the information you learn to help sales win against our competitors. You will be a relentless researcher sifting through the data created by internal PayPal teams, you’ll interview sales reps, you’ll dig through industry analyst information and scout for 3rd party content that validates our positioning. You’ll jump in and help out when RFPs need that extra competitive boost, and when sales asks us for help. Think of this role as the competitive help desk for our sellers to help increase our ability to win bigger deals, more often!

You’ll be responsible for building relationships and conduits to information across product management, product marketing, internal research, and sales teams. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate the ability to own and lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Key activities include:

  • Gain an understanding of, and define the competitive landscape across Enterprise and Mid-market segments.
  • Create competitive content starting with discovery of information from SMEs, create story/narrative to match value-selling approach, select the best form factor and drive the project through design, approvals, and publication.
  • Manage the review process with stakeholders, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Coordinate with the graphic designers on our team to produce professional-grade assets.
  • Identify innovative ways to tell the PayPal platform story specifically to differentiate from the competition.
  • Become knowledgeable in the PayPal solutions for the enterprise and mid-market.
  • Collaborate across the Sales Enablement Content team to identify areas where our competitive response could be improved. Establish projects to fill those gaps.
  • Work with the Sales Enablement Content leader to set deadlines and meet or exceed those deadlines in delivery to the Sales organization.
  • Respond to RFP team, and sales team requests for competitive assistance with a high sense of urgency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in content creation from inception to publication
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with sales teams and competitive storytelling. Preference to those with field facing experience such as Competitive Analyst, Sales Engineering, Customer Account Management, or Outbound Product Marketing.
  • Well-organized; ability to multitask and possess excellent time management skills
  • Able to manage multiple content creation projects at one time
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work under tight timelines
  • Ability to take ownership, prioritize, and efficiently complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, both in writing and in project completion
  • Creative writing skills with the ability to craft a story to support a competitive selling strategy
