In a fast-paced, high problem-solving environment, the Manager of the Enterprise Services Operations Program Management Office leads the team supporting Operations-focused strategic programs across PayPal. The team’s responsibility includes ensuring successful, timely and in-scope delivery - focused on planning, reporting, organizing and holding stakeholders accountable to manage risks and create mitigation strategies. Programs will involve the implementation of a variety of work streams and typically span multiple teams and geographic locations. This leader will work closely with the OCIO Agile Program Management leaders which are responsible for driving the technology delivery. The ideal candidate is a leader comfortable with ambiguity who drives to get stuff done and coaches their team to reach their fullest potential.

The Manager’s day-to-day responsibilities will include:  

  • Leading and inspiring a high-achieving program management team
  • Identifying opportunities for optimization within Enterprise Services Program Management
  • Formulating a long and short term strategy to ensure optimal use of resources across programs
  • Develop trusted relationships with technology leaders, business leaders and stakeholders to drive optimized program delivery. This includes supporting and holding resources accountable for their responsibilities within the program
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent programs from delivering on program objectives. Balances urgent and effective action, commitment to excellence, and taking initiative to resolve problems; holds internal stakeholders accountable where appropriate
  • Strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner
  • Develops loyalty and commitment in others by communicating clear expectations, developing and mentoring direct reports, and setting an example in one’s own behavior

Job Requirements:

  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills; Ability to lead a team across multiple locations (4-5 large locations and additional small locations)
  • 6+ years’ experience as project or program manager with 3+ years direct leadership experience
  • Passion for leading and developing direct reports; providing guidance, consultation, and opportunities towards improving their professional skill set; ability to lead and influence direct reports remotely
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage a large, diverse set of to-do’s – vigorously prioritize, stay on top of multiple work streams, monitor progress, hold owners accountable.
  • Proven experience providing guidance, making critical decisions, and moving work forward in a project environment known to contain high levels of ambiguity due to the nature of the work.
  • Communication style motivated by brevity and purposeful outcomes with experience interfacing with executives.
  • Ability to travel up to 3 weeks per quarter
  • Day-to-day presence in Austin site
