This role will report to the Director, Corporate Development Risk and Platforms and assist in the following areas: • Ensure Risk and Platforms subject matter expertise (e.g. AML/BSA, Privacy, Consumer Compliance, Credit Risk Oversight, Operational Risk, Regulatory Oversight, Safety and Security, etc.) is provided, as appropriate, in the development and evaluation of strategies and business decisions emanating from Corporate Development • Manage, participate and/or coordinate Risk and Platforms due diligence for potential M&A, partnerships and/or investment targets, and ensure appropriate risk and compliance expertise is provided throughout the process, as needed • Ensure tracking of key risks, dependencies and activities identified during deal due diligence are appropriately captured and accounted for in due diligence reports and knowledge shared during integration planning • Prepare and present due diligence reports, observations and recommendations to deal teams, and Risk and Platforms leadership, as appropriate • Formulate and document Risk and Platforms conditions to execute/close transactions, as needed, and validate recommendations with Director and Risk and Platforms leadership. • Participate in the integration planning process for Risk and Platforms involving the appropriate Risk and Platforms leaders and/or subject matter experts through deal closing and ensure a seamless transition into post-close integration management to appropriate Risk and Platforms functions (e.g. RCOs, PMO, etc.) • Facilitate transfer of knowledge between due diligence and integration teams • Synthesize and escalate significant diligence and integration risks to Director, Risk and Platforms leadership, and the Integration Management Office, as appropriate, and help develop remediation plans • Liaise with the overall Integration Management Office to communicate significant development and required actions to Risk and Platforms teams, as applicable • Assist in the development and maintain knowledge of M&A Diligence procedures, standards and/or playbook for Risk and Platforms, including syndication with Risk and Platforms leadership and their respective teams, as appropriate • Participate in various pitches/sales presentations from potential strategic targets and provide high level risk and compliance perspective • Participate in appropriate forums aimed at the identification and mitigation of strategic risks • Lead through influence, personal conviction, and sensitivity. Build trust and foster relationships with key stakeholders. Build impactful cross-functional relationships by promoting the “one team” concept in a variety of ways on a daily basis • Establish and maintain relationships with Corporate Development counterparts

This Analyst will need to build strong relationships with PayPal business partners and within the Risk and Platforms organization to be effectively positioned to understand, communicate and influence plans, results, issues, and outcomes.  This Analyst will work in a complex, fast-paced matrixed environment, replete with tight deliverable timeframes and multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.  This position is expected to act independently and demonstrate strong initiative.  The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Knowledge of the financial services compliance and / or regulatory environment is preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a context of profound cultural and industry change
  • Proven ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, audit, legal or  operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk)
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
