The Team – Global Marketing Operations Transformation & Enablement:

Historically, all Regions (NA, EMEA, APAC) have run separate Marketing functions and have had different operational set ups. As part of the Global Marketing transformation program, all regional teams have been consolidated in to one and the new Global Marketing Operations Transformation & Enablement team has been established. The Global Marketing Ops Transformation & Enablement team are tasked with designing and driving this bold new operating model, establishing a blueprint for the future where people, process and technology come together as one. Creating new ways of working that elevate our ability to deliver our marketing plans and innovate continuously. The team are very well regarded, highly skilled and innovative with over 220 full time and agency support staff building our organization structure, process and technology for change. For you to succeed on this team it is important for you to be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, to continuously learn and have a curious mindset, to understand and help drive a DevOps Culture, to be proactive, collaborative and to have a sense of humour.

Location: San Jose

Travel: Main destinations will include San Jose (Global HQ) & Global Hubs: New York, London, Singapore.

Job Description, T-Profile:

Depth Type: Deep

  • DevOps Tool set in React/Jest, Java/Spring ecosystem and Bigdata ecosystem
  • Scripting (Ansible, Bash, Powershell etc)
  • Azure DevOps and Google Cloud Platform

Breadth Type: Narrow

  • Digital Marketing Campaigns and Digital Marketing domain
  • Good knowledge of Architecture patters for Security, Data and Applications.
  • Full stack development

What will your week look like?

You are setting up DevOps practices for multiple teams ensure correct setup and development practices. Best practices for Security and Infrastructure setup are followed with your involvement with teams. You are working with Digital Deliver teams to ensure QA and governance is done properly and is largely automated. Your efforts are speeding up delivery of features and campaigns across Teams. You are executing against the DevOps architecture and tool chain you have come up with in agreement with Architects.  

Skills to be used: Deep knowledge of the Application Lifecycle management and DevOps tools, Understanding of PYPL ecosystem and Enterprise Architecture.

What will your quarter look like?

You are forming and participating in communities of excellence for DevOps. You are feeding into DevOps Architecture but also making the architecture real across the development and delivery teams. You are a hands on expert in the frameworks used at PYPL for Cross cutting concerns and CI/CD. You are partnering with InfoSec organization and building more and more security policy into testing pipelines. You are designing and delivering Version control Architecture, Testing Architecture, Deployment, and Release Architecture within the constraints of the PYPL ecosystem and in partnership with core engineering platform teams. You are partnering across PYPL service teams where they need support to make the DevOps architecture for delivering of Marketing campaigns a reality.

Skills to be used: Architecture patterns for DevOps Value, DevOps topologies and best practices.

What will your year look like?

You are an ambassador for Developer Experience. While serving developers to build time DevOps, you are also serving marketing channel teams for run time DevOps. Your efforts in setup, maintenance, and adoption of development, testing, deployment and releasing pipelines are making a real difference to MTTR and TTM metric. Starting new features or campaigns is speeding up more and more and cross-cutting concerns are built into the deployment and release pipelines. Maximum uptime, Security and Time to Market are all balanced through DevOps. You have aligned with wider core engineering teams on cloud strategy and use cases for cloud are being delivered more and more. You are aligned and aware of the enterprise wide vision.

Skills to be used: Marketing Domain and PYPL Enterprise Architecture understanding. Up to date knowledge of emerging DevOps tools and patterns. Collaboration and team management.

Education & Experience required:

  • Technology degree Education and Technology certifications.
  • Multiple year, DevOps architecture project experience in Agile environments, working in Product and Platform thinking teams.
  • Essential experience in managing multiple small/medium workstreams in parallel. 
  • Digital marketing experiences a big plus
