Senior Integration Engineer – Global Professional Services (GPS) The Senior Integration Engineer is part of the Global Professional Service (GPS) organization. He/She reports to the Brazilian Global Professional Services Senior Manager. The main responsibility of the Integration Engineer is to guide our merchants through the integration process with PayPal’s Products. It is expected technical knowledge, project management’s skills and business speech’s skills to engage our client. This position is not a software development position, but coding skills are required.


  • Provides technical documentation and explanations based on internal strategy and client requirements.
  • Interacts directly with clients to understand their needs and help them to accelerate the integration process and to increase the quality of the system integration.
  • Interacts with internal key stakeholders, including Product managers, Developers, Risk analysts, Sales, Operations, etc. to address specific client business requirements and/or product’s needs.
  • Gathering business requirements, providing documentation and technical explanation to external partners and clients, and debugging merchant codes to certificate the integration.
  • Research internally how to better serve our client technically and business wise.
  •  Proactively manage different projects at the same time, with our clients and internally.
  • Interface with the sales team, providing project information and translating technical requirements, issues, and integrations` sprints to non-technical language.


  • Understanding of technical concepts and payment processing.
  • Experience with software application debugging, implementation, troubleshooting and Programming logic, additionally: SSL, JSON, HTML, CSS, HTTP, JS.
  • Experience implementing technology based on APIs, REST, SOAP, NVP, Webhooks.
  • Highly skilled at applying consultative methodologies and techniques to solve integration pain points. Experience in drawing API’s sequence diagrams, API’s calls flows, Business processes flow, and understanding of user experience applied to ecommerce.
  • Quickly assess and troubleshoots integration issues. Foresee gaps which will be needed to be close in the implementation phase.
  • Proactivity connect with internal teams to solve client’s requirements or issues.
  • Leverages relationship with clients and time management skills to effectively work with multiple external clients.
  • Effectively, write documents for external and internal consumption. And effectively present PayPal products to clients helping the sales team to close deals and after that, be accountable for the complete implementation phase of the project.
  • Translates business requirements into specs and hold accountable to deliver the full implementation.
  • It is expected from an Engineering Senior position also the tech lead skill, guiding, helping, and mentoring juniors team members.


  • 4 to +6 years of software integration or related technical fields.
  • High presentation skills (Presenting to Business units and external Technical teams).
  • Technical knowledge of JavaScript, any other programming language, SSL, JSON, HTTP, HTML, CSS, APIs, REST, SOAP, NVP and Webhooks.
  • Payment integration knowledge is a nice to have skill.
  • Good communication in Portuguese and English (writing, reading, and speaking)

Language requirements:

  • Portuguese native Speaker.
  • English proficiency.
