We're seeking a seasoned engineer with great knowledge and hands on experience with cloud technologies, security standards, networking, Linux environment, scripting (Python and Java) and troubleshooting production systems.

At Simility, a division of PayPal, we’re helping companies prevent fraud and abuse using machine learning, big data analytics, and data visualization. We level the playing field against even the most sophisticated fraud rings by enabling analysts to create and configure detection mechanisms without having to write even one line of code.

You are a savvy engineer who excels at not only understanding the customer environment, but also are a creative technologist who knows how to ensure a seamless integration with the customer’s existing components. You continuously build upon and apply your technical knowledge and skills at every level. Our team of engineers also spends their time working on projects that affect many parts of the organization, including automating processes, coding custom tools, contributing bug fixes to various products, advocating for features with the product team, and managing instances that are vital to the success of the company.
 

Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborates with deployment teams and product development teams to ensure a smooth and customer friendly product design and integration.

  • Diagnoses and resolves issues encountered during product integrations.  

  • Educates and provides guidance to customers on configurations to prevent problems.

  • Verifies fixes and advocates for improvements, to ensure quality.

  • Coordinates and manages customer contact for critical product integrations  

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar field preferred.

  • 5 years of experience working within integrations and software engineering preferred.

  • Knowledge of Linux, Docker, containerization, and deployment methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS (for example: EC2, RDS, Elasticache, Route53) or GCE.

  • Java and Python experience

  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Cassandra, Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka, helpful, but not required.

  • Problem solving skills and ability to break down complex concepts.

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding teamwork and verbal communication skills.
