PayPal’s Information Security team is looking for creative and passionate Interns who are excited about learning what it takes to work as a member of a talented team to secure customers, systems and data in today’s rapidly evolving threat environment.

For interns who are interested in security research, they would be embarking on technology research in at least one of these areas:- network security, cryptography, vulnerability analysis, security threat intelligence, application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to threat detection and/or security testing automation. During the course of research, the intern will be expected to read technical papers and scientific publications to learn and understand the research technology as well as to perform security analysis on the technology together with the rest of the PayPal research team. Intern enjoys the opportunity to create new intellectual property such as novel security architecture, design, protocol and algorithm, code and develop research prototype as well as participate in performance testing and research pilot in a team environment. With an emphasis on applied research, intern will also learn the various payments and financial services use cases and requirements to apply the research technology.

What we are looking for:

  • Under grad or Postgrad pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security or related degree.
  • Experience of software development in Python, Java, Ruby, Go, C, or related development experience
  • Coursework should include computer science fundamentals, information security or governance, programming languages, and related technical studies.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and an interest in deepening knowledge of information security principles
  • Demonstrated abilities to comprehend, discuss and apply concepts and theories within both overall Information Technology and Information Security / Governance fields.
  • Strong analytical skills along with necessary communication skills necessary to document the processes and actions taken to complete each assignment.
