As the Head of Social/ Media Planning and Strategy you will oversee strategic development and execution PayPal’s always on influencer and brand activations globally. You’ll deliver a fully integrated influencer strategy for 2020 and beyond that taps into the power of existing audiences and communities to create branded content that changes the way people think about PayPal, develops and nurtures a robust stable of brand advocates and ultimately, translates to business results for PayPal and our family of brands.

As a part of the Global Media + Social Team, you will be dedicated to finding outstanding opportunities to use strategic storytelling across digital networks to bring to life our brand narrative, engage key audiences, and foster community and conversation that builds momentum and love for PayPal and our family of brands.

  • Co-create and deliver a fully integrated influencer strategy for 2020 
  • Evaluate and secure a best-in-class resourcing ecosystem for influencer projects, considering agencies, social platforms, talent-direct and multi-channel networks
  • Develop a holistic measurement framework that brings together traditional social metrics, business metrics and brand metrics to prove campaign ROI
  • Recommend and monitor budget needs for global and regional activations
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance and communications to develop working model for influencer vetting and content approvals
  • Team with Creative and Growth Lab strategists to develop best practices for boosting influencer content
  • Recommend the activation best practices for content creation and distribution
  • Recommend Filters for how we assign “influencers” v. “brand ambassadors” to represent us publicly and the right casting for Venmo + PayPal so we are differentiated and native to our customer base

Professional Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years social media, content strategy and integrated marketing experience with a strong focus on experiences with digital programs
  • Global Experience
  • A social maven 
    • An "expert" in the online space, social trends and working with influencers  
    • An digital native who is comfortable translating messaging to live naturally in social spaces and adheres to channel best practices
  • An influencer expert
    • Proven experience in developing and activating influencer programs for brands 
    • Has a strong point of view on influencer strategy and the different roles of macro, micro and celebrity
  • A collaborator 
    • Someone that people see as a trusted adviser, a reliable project partner and a strong voice for the value of social and influencers 
    • Can bring out the best in agency relationships – garnering the best teams, building highly engaging relationships and delivering great results with a keen eye on costs  
    • Team player across functions and borders - collaborative, consultative, collegiate and willing to navigate a complex organization
  • A self-motivator 
    • Self-driven, loads of initiative, resourceful - generally very focused on getting to "yes" and getting to "do"
