The Head of DE Installments is a new role for the growing DE Deferred Payments division within PayPal Credit which manages PayPal Ratenzahlung and other future consumer credit products in Germany. This position is based in Berlin and reports into the Director of Consumer Credit in Germany.

Head of DE Consumer Credit (m/f/d)

This role will interact with a cross-functional team and partner with colleagues from numerous domains—including Marketing, Product, Finance, Credit Risk, Legal, Operations, Compliance & Analytics—to bring solutions to our German consumers that help them maintain control over their finances, and choose when and how they want to pay.

Core responsibilities:

  • Own and be commercially responsible for the PayPal Ratenzahlung P&L and deliver the scorecard for Financial, Consumer and Merchant metrics.
  • Drive aggressive growth strategies to scale the Installments business in Germany to exceed its financial targets.
  • Analyze and interpret business results in order to identify issues and/or opportunities for growth.
  • Manage cross functional relationships in order to deliver the product roadmap and ensure broad consumer and merchant awareness of the installments product in the DE market.
  • Support the Director of DE Credit in running an operating environment for the German Credit team with a high performing, accountable team and operational excellence in all aspects of the business. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred, or equivalent.
  • Experience with consumer credit products in Germany including defining product requirements, developing cross functional go-to-market strategies, and meeting regulatory & compliance obligations at country and regional levels.
  • Ability to routinely deliver commercial results along with familiarity of a range of business disciplines including marketing, product development, finance, credit risk, and operations
  • Knowledge of and passion for consumers and merchants in the DEATCH region, including their need for long term installments products
  • Be action-oriented and decisive with a strong and consistent track record of professional accomplishments
  • Strong voice to advocate for DE region within fast-growing global business and to communicate and influence at senior levels in Europe and in the US
  • Ability to navigate a highly-matrixed, cross-functional, international professional environment and to work across time zones (primarily Europe & US)
  • Fluent English required. Fluent German is a plus.
