PayPal is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and hard-working Strategy Operations Manager to join the Global Professional Services organization. The Global Professional Services (GPS) organization is composed of 700+ teammates helping design, integrate, and service elegant payment solutions for merchants. The Strategy and Enablement team participate in and lead projects which help to transform the business. This teammate will own and drive complex and cross-functional programs for the Global Professional Services team.  

The person who fills this role will collaborate with GPS teammates as well as partners in other organizations (Product, HR, Sales, Revenue Operations, Analytics, and more) to ensure smooth and complete end-to-end program execution. They will be driving the overall strategy and vision for the work they are leading and will have to practice extreme ownership, being able to fill in any gaps to ensure success. They will routinely report out to senior leadership the overall program status, risk and mitigation strategy, and impact seen to-date. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Listen and learn through GPS teammate interactions and feedback  
  • Design and drive complex projects involving multiple stakeholders focusing on improving the overall operations of the GPS organization   
  • Quickly learn and breakdown existing processes, interactions, and dependencies between teams, and then work with others to design new processes to create efficiencies 
  • Review roles and responsibilities to ensure we are set up for success internally as well as to best service our merchants  
  • Uncover areas within the business to drive performance improvements to unlock productivity and accelerate execution 
  • Manage various stakeholders across the organization gather commitment for programs and to report out progress and status 
  • Use data and analytics as essential tools to guide any decision making and strategy 
  • Communicating to leadership on a regular basis the strategy, overall status, and any risks of a program  
  • Adapt to an ever-changing environment 
  • Help implement evidence-based decision making, apply thoughtful analytics to business opportunities, and identify success metrics / develop reporting to track progress against goals 

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have strong project/program management abilities, is a data-driven thinker, and has experience working with broad cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will have: 

  • Experience operating in a highly cross-functional environment, particularly with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Service teams 
  • Consulting experience, or experience driving complex programs and project projects  
  • Experience working in a technology-focused environment 
  • Experience using technology and automation to design and efficient processes  
  • Experience in managing stakeholders from manager to VP, and presenting to many levels of seniority 
  • A high-level of comfort around accountability and ownership 

 Job Requirements & Qualifications  

  • Experience in Financial Technology a plus  
  • 3-5+ years’ experience with a mix of strategy, business operation in a technology company or a consulting firm / corporate strategy field with strong exposure to technology 
  • Experience driving large and complex initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research/analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success 
  • Strong leadership, analytical and financial skills to solve complex business problems 
  • People development and influencing skills; able to build and lead strong teams 
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment 
  • Strong client management skills with executive-level communication experience 
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills 
  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft suite (Excel and PowerPoint are essential) 
  • Analytical mindset combined with the ability to analyze data and create reports 
  • Collaborative mindset with leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence. 
  • High-level understanding of standard business practices related to Professional Services for a technology company 
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, MA/MBA a bonus
