Managers are subject matter experts, providing people leadership, ongoing development, direction with processes, and effective communication to Investigators and Senior Investigators within PayPal’s Global Financial Crimes and Customer Protection (GFCCP) organization, leveraging effective judgement and discretion to ensure successful execution on PayPal obligations. Managers are responsible for strategically collaborating with all levels of GFCCP leadership in order to ensure PayPal continues to expand on high quality products to the proper appropriate regulatory authorities.


  • Lead by example within pod to ensure Service Level goals and volume output expectations are consistently met. Step in to assist with casework when needed or delegate appropriately to ensure that team goals are met or exceeded.
  • Implement and perform optimal number of enrichment assessments and provide timely, ongoing feedback to ensure culture of high quality, both directly and through coaching others; provide situational-based coaching in a one-on-one setting to ensure that the feedback is received and a plan for action is established with the investigator to ensure future success.
  • Achieve demonstrable and material quality improvement or maintenance of consistent high quality output
  • Exhibit the necessary passion, influence and engagement in the leadership of your program, to maximize the utility of the team's resources
  • Lead and Engage directs in mentoring, facilitation of huddles, and ensuring effective learning sessions to develop best practices and cultivate learning
  • Champion and drive enhancement opportunities in quarterly sprints by delivering on committed dates, UAT testing, SOPs, Training, etc.
  • Design and execute strategies and processes that minimize touch points, eliminate unnecessary customer impacts, and supports the investigative strategy
  • Deliver on specific action items/initiatives to address Impact survey and other team feedback


  • Demonstrate appropriate levels of partner engagement to align on priorities and hold those partners accountable within GFCCP, Risk and Platforms, and Enterprise Services
  • Ensure internal and external escalations are managed to timely and acceptable conclusion
  • Establish and track to successful conclusion, stretch opportunities/assignments to propel high performers
  • Exemplify leadership in consistently leveraging talent development and performance management to drive cultural changes

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Legal, Criminal Justice or a comparable field or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience conducting research and investigations related to Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Customer/Enhanced Due Diligence investigation or verifications, Sanctions monitoring
  • Minimum of 2 years supervising n organization of investigators or Investigators
  • Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data in order to report critical information;
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information accurately, clearly and quickly to all levels;
  • Ability to lead teams in a manner that encourages Investigators to work efficiently with an attention to detail in investigations, analysis, and writing;
  • Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints within your team and across the organization;
  • Ability to recognize the need for change management initiatives, and the ability to lead these while maintaining and driving engagement throughout the team;
  • Interact with peers and financial crimes risk professionals, all levels of management, and other internal or external constituents in order to deliver comprehensive views on investigative and intelligence matters and represent reasoning of case disposition;
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency
